The Rec Park Music Fest is looking forward to its twentieth year of providing music and fun for all ages in Binghamton's Recreation Park nestled between Beethoven and Seminary streets. The event started small in 1996 when Jim Reyen (then bassist for Rhythm Gypsys) pulled together a group of musician friends to play at the park. On just a small budget, support from the city, fellow musicians and food vendors, the event was an instant hit. In its second year the Binghamton Summer Music Festival took the event under its wing and its been a flying success ever since! Nestled below some huge oaks, the historic carousel running in the background, kids playing on the playground and some of the areas finest musicians performing in the Greek Revival rotunda made famous by Rod Sterling, you'll enjoy every relaxing minute of this family outing.
